On Friday, 10th April, 2026, H.E. Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus at the Independence Palace together with nine other Ambassadors accredited to Belarus.
In his address to the Ambassadors, H.E. Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko said Belarus is open for initiatives that promote bilateral relations in trade, investment, science, culture, education, sports and people’s diplomacy and assured the envoys of his support at all levels.
On the relations between Ghana and Belarus, H.E. the President perceives Ghana as an important and promising partner. He stated that Belarus will work with the government of Ghana to supply not only agricultural machinery in aid of its mechanization programme, but also provide comprehensive solutions to ensure food security which will be specifically adapted to the needs of Ghana.
Prior to the presentation of the Letters of Credence to President Lukashenko, H.E Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah presented his Open Letters to H.E Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus during which he conveyed warm greetings from the Government and people of Ghana and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening its relations with Belarus. Discussions centred on opportunities for enhanced technical and developmental cooperation, especially in the area of agricultural mechanization leveraging Belarus expertise to support Ghana’s 24 -Hour Economy.

While in Minsk, H.E Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah took the opportunity to tour the Minsk Automobile Factory and Minsk Tractor Factory which manufacture Trucks (MAZ) and Tractors (Belarus) respectively.
