H.E. Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, Ambassador of Ghana to Russia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Rahman Mustafayev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation, in Moscow on 12th February, 2026. Ambassador Jehu-Appiah was accompanied by Mr. Abiel Armah, PhD, Minister-Counsellor/Head of Chancery. Azerbaijan is concurrently accredited to the Ghana Diplomatic Mission in Moscow.
The meeting enabled the two Ambassadors to discuss ways to deepen bilateral relations between Ghana and Azerbaijan.
The two Heads of Missions exchanged views on areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. Both sides expressed their willingness to work together to strengthen ties and promote mutual understanding between Ghana and Azerbaijan.
H.E. Rahman Mustafayev noted that as part of efforts by his government to reset ties with Ghana, plans are far advanced to open a diplomatic Mission in Accra. Ambassador Jehu-Appiah gave assurance of his support to ensure that the opening of a diplomatic mission in Ghana by the government of Azerbaijan becomes a reality.
The meeting was characterized by a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the excellent relations between Ghana and Azerbaijan.
