The Embassy wishes inform that as part of effort to improve cultural relations between Ghana and Russia the University of Ghana took part in a poetic recital competition organised by Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin’s birth, the great Russian poet.
The poetic recital attracted one hundred and six students (106) in the competition which include memorization of recorded works of Sergei Yesenin.
The event opened with inspiring speeches from Dr. Joanna Boampong and Dr. Felix Sosoo of the University of Ghana. Officials from the Yaroslavl State University in Russia and Russian Embassy in Accra were in attendance and spoke at the event.
It is worthy to note with a hearty congratulations that all of 106 contestants excelled and were rewarded with a well-deserved diplomas and memorable gifts.
