
His Excellency Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, Ghana’s new Ambassador to the Russian Federation presented his open letters accrediting him as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation on Friday 10th October, 2025 to the Acting Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs in Charge of Africa H.E. Sergey Vasilyevich Vershinin at 10.00am at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Herbert Addy-Nettey, Minister-Counsellor / Political and Economic and Dr. Abiel A. Armah, Minister-Counsellor/Head of Chancery.
The Deputy Director of Department for States of Africa (Sub-Saharan) Mr. Nikolay Nikolayevich Varich was present at the ceremony.
Ahead of the start of the conversation, H.E. Jehu-Appiah graciously extended very warm greetings from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) to his Russian counterpart, H.E. Sergey Lavrov.
Discussions between H.E. Ambassador Jehu-Appiah and the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister centered on improving collaborations between Ghana and Russia.
One notable area which received significant attention was collaboration in technical and scientific fields. To this end the, Deputy Minister informed of Russia’s readiness to assist Ghana with floating nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Jehu-Appiah assured H.E. Sergey Vasilyevich Vershinin that his tenure will not only reset Ghana-Russia relations but also catapult the already cordial relations to its highest destination for the mutual benefits of the good peoples of both countries.
