H.E. Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, Ambassador of Ghana to The Russian Federation, attended the 66th Anniversary celebration of RUDN in Moscow on Friday, 6th February. He was accompanied by Mr. Emmanuel Panyan, PhD, Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Herbert Addy-Nettey, Minister-Counsellor/Political and Economic, and Mr. Abiel Armah, PhD, Minister- Counsellor/Head of Chancery.
The event brought together esteemed guests, alumni, and faculty members to mark the significant milestone of RUDN.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, an alumnus of the RUDN was honoured with the rare opportunity to make two presentations one at the meeting with Rector Prof. Oleg Yastrebov and the other one during a concert.

The memorable day was capped off with University presenting him an award of the Alumni Star named after Professor Vladimir Franzevich Stanis.
In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah expressed gratitude for the education and training he received at RUDN, which has been instrumental in his distinguished career both as a medical practitioner and a diplomat.
The Head of Ghana’s diplomatic mission also highlighted the strong ties between Ghana and Russia, emphasizing the importance of academic cooperation and exchange programmes. He commended RUDN for its commitment to fostering global understanding and promoting cultural diversity.
The celebration featured cultural performances, academic discussions, and the unveiling of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the university’s global presence. Ambassador Jehu-Appiah’s participation in the event underscores the strong bond between Ghana and RUDN University, as well as the Embassy’s commitment to nurturing academic partnerships.
